Elemental Copper – Compound Image; Abstract assemblage representing the sensual shape and form of a female intimate part.
This most recent jewel of an artwork is incorporates a natural form contained within a sensitively carves kitchen implement enhanced with a small gem to redolent of the Mons Venus.
Inspirations and Stimulation
The initially idea was inspired by Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Thus there is a final iconic decorative image combining line and shape made rich with a warm metallic coating of colour.
The erotic works by Francisco Erotica are a result of admiring the female figure harking back, naturally, to teenage years in an all boys’ grammar school. However items like Elemental Copper – Compound Image reflect the heady days of exploration and experimentation of 60s art college.
Exposure to the Elements
Chris Francis’s first experience of studying the female nude was, aged 16, at classes at an art school
In the following 55+ Chris Francis has produced thousands of drawings, paintings, carvings and latterly these petite three-dimensional assemblages. Elemental Copper – Compound Image, measuring 10cm x 10cm x 2.5cm is gem like in its creation.
Over this period, Chris Francis’s rendition has progressed from figurative artworks of different shape, size and colour through to the abstract. All capturing the sensuality that still fascinates him and he still paints and draws every week at the prestige Mall Galleries He also attends the life drawing sessions of the East London Strippers Collective and occasional similar erotic art groups.
Putting Things Together
Assemblages may be made with found objects including manufactured elements to underline that similarities between the natural and the engineered. The latest satirical series is called AroMA or Area of Male Attention hence they echo the size as the Mons Venus.
