Seeds of Love – Erotica Expressive Artwork of Romance; Hand-crafted with Love and Care: – Symbol of Indian love mated with Western romance token: Hand-made decorated assemblage incorporating the seeds of the mango symbolizing love and friendship and the heart, the Western expression of love. The mango is India’s national and most cultivated tropical fruit and also represents prosperity, abundance, and wealth, hence holds a special place in its culture, and thus has been used as folk remedies for centuries. 

These assemblages – three dimensional collages – created by Chris Francis  combine natural objects – in this case the organic seeds of the mango – on a ready-made craft shape and decorated with a single gem.  This hand-crafted exquisite work of art measures only 10cm x 10cm in its own dedicated 2.5cm high frame. 

Chris Francis’s assemblages are all hand-made from found objects – in this case while preparing fruit but also accumulated in his studio as he forages out and about. Other elements are specially bought, like the ready made heart but also obtained speculatively for recycled and repurposed from toy stores, charity shops and pound stores,

As with many artists, Chris will pursue a series of related works such as this (Seeds of Love) or erotic pieces combining sensual carved items with decorative additions ranging in size up to 125cm x 80cm

Great attention is given to durability in making each assemblage – fixing with modern adhesives and secured with screws and, with Seeds of Love (Erotica Expressive Artwork of Romance – Hand-crafted with Love and Care) secured in its own frame.
